Minarets Shows Appreciation for Valley Children’s Diabetes Program and Its Impact on Local Kids

November 18, 2025 O'Neals CA Jessica Padgett, Reporter

For kids and families in the Central Valley living with diabetes, Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera is giving hope, education, and support through its Diabetes Care Program. The program focuses on helping children manage diabetes while still enjoying life to the fullest. Its Endocrinology and Diabetes Program provides expert medical care, education, and encouragement so they can live healthy, active lives.

The endocrinology team at Valley Children’s focuses on treating conditions like type 1 diabetes and thyroid disorders. What makes the program special is how much care and attention each child receives, not just from one doctor but from an entire team that includes pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and diabetes educators.

What really stands out is how personalized and family-friendly the care is. Families aren’t just told what to do; they’re taught how to manage their child’s condition through hands-on lessons, meal planning, and one-on-one guidance. Kids learn how to check blood sugar, use insulin pumps, and understand how food and activity affect their bodies.

For families in our area, Valley Children’s isn’t just a hospital—it’s a place where kids can receive the expert care they need close to home. Their endocrinology team continues to make a difference by combining top-notch medical care with compassion and education, helping young patients grow up strong and confident.
