It's May, which means that Keep It Native Day is right around the corner. In fact, its on May 15 from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Minarets High School. As always, it is put on the Native American Club on campus and will have activities for the students of all ages. Students from all over, including elementary and high schools, will be coming to Minarets to enjoy Indian Tacos, entertainment, and much more.
There will be different activities for the elementary and high school students, such as Beading, tobacco ties, Touch and Feel, Pompey’s race, creating God’s Eyes, and, of course the main entertainment, the dancers. These dancers include sophomore Nayeli Johnson, Logan Ramirez, and Natalie Deanda. There will also be booths will be set up by North Fork Rancheria, Sierra Mono Museum, TANF Automotive, and many others as well.
This event is to help bring awareness to the strong Native culture in the area as well as to support the Native American Club at Minarets. It will be a busy day with fun activities and delicious food. Hope to see you there!
This is nice, however, visual aid would be nice. Perhaps showing images from an earlier year of the same event would be nice and further informative to this article :)
