How Can We Stay Safe During The Holidays?

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

Seeing family and friends, holiday decor, and famous family recipes are all things we look forward to during the holiday season. Whether you are traveling to your family, or family is coming to you, it can be stressful making sure everyone is being cautious of illnesses that they may contract, especially in the wake of COVID. How has COVID affected how we spend the holidays? We live in fear of exposing our loved ones to the virus, and holidays are a sensitive time for many people when seeing family and staying safe are their main priorities.

As everyone knows, we have been dealing with COVID for almost two years now, and it has affected the way we live our everyday lives tremendously. Some of the things that have changed are the precautions we take to prevent sickness. We have discovered that mask/face coverings, vaccines, and sanitation help prevent the virus. Throughout the pandemic, there has been a lot of trial and error of how to come to these conclusions.

So how do we make sure that we are not endangering our loved ones? Make sure that you are being cautious of illness and prevention. This includes taking vitamins that help your immune system, keeping your home sanitary, and protecting yourself in public places via face covering.

Large crowds during the holidays can be dangerous because you never know what illnesses they could have been exposed to. This is why it is important to refrain from seeing people or going out in public when you are sick. It's important to do health checks regularly to ensure you are not harming others you come in contact with by way of a COVID test if you have been exposed, and monitoring yourself if you feel unwell.

To sum it up, it is important to protect yourself as we are in the midst of a pandemic. As mentioned earlier, you can protect yourself, along with others by wearing a mask/face covering, looking into vaccines, and keeping your home sanitized. Holidays are better when spent safely.
