Technology has had at least some impact on everything in today's society and education is far from being an exception. This is especially true at Minarets since technology is used for everything from teaching subjects to having the students work and turn in the assignments online.
Even though using technology may be different from doing school traditionally, this scene is easily recognizable from the parallels of the modern-day and the youth in it. When the teachers lecture the students, they all either have a notebook open or have their laptops open and take notes of what they're saying. Even though these differences are there, it is not much different from when it was all book and paper. In fact, it turns out to be working more effectively.
It turns out that students’ motivation and focus have been improving from using technology as their learning and working tools. With technology, teachers are able to link their students to professional sources and sites to help them get their work done. It gives schools the opportunity to do ‘blended learning, which is when you are able to do face-to-face or online learning. Online learning does have the potential to improve educational productivity by taking advantage of the time outside of school and accelerated learning.
However, technology has also been proven to affect learning negatively. For example, fourth-grade classes took tests and did all of their assignments on tablets and a majority of the test scores were below average. This shows that technology use for younger students may not be the correct way to go. Technology may only be the right way for students in high school and college.
