Minarets Abroad Prepares for Takeoff to Ireland and England

Minarets Abroad made an exciting announcement earlier this week regarding the destination for their 2023 trip; Minarets Abroad is traveling to Ireland and England! What is Minarets Abroad and why should you care? Minarets Abroad is a program at the school led by social studies teacher Katie Morgan that takes students to various foreign countries annually. Students are given the opportunity to experience different cultures and see geographical landmarks that they would probably not have the chance to see otherwise.

In previous years, Minarets Abroad has traveled to France, Poland, Spain and various other countries around the globe. Of the decision to go to Ireland and England, Morgan had said“We are just trying to do a variety of different places… just trying to hit as many different spots as possible”.

She also spoke about what students can expect to see when going to Ireland and England with Minarets Abroad, mentioning various landmarks such as Blarney Castle and Piccadilly Circus along with interesting cities like London and Dublin, and the beautiful countryside and landscape. The trip will be a nine-day tour with plenty of variety and, with the tour agenda entirely planned out and organized by a group of professionals, students will ideally not have to worry about transportation, food, or other common problems associated with normal travel.

The main cause for hesitancy for would-be travelers with Minarets Abroad is the lofty price tag of around $4,000. However, this price covers everything from tours and transportation, to food and hotel accommodations. Taking this into consideration, Minarets Abroad has a way to help with the financial barriers.

“Doing [fundraising] individually, you’re more likely to get more money [compared to] fundraising as a group through ASB”, says Morgan.
