Seniors Chris Freeman and Sam Wheeler were scheming one day, figuring out some way to combine their love of skateboarding with their school life. After a brainstorming session, they had a big idea! They began formulating a way to put together a club at school for experienced and amateur skaters alike.
Skate club will discuss their skating experiences, helping the club members learn new skating tips and tricks, organizing afterschool trips to skate parks to practice and work on the media aspect of skating. Helping and teaching members to make and edit skate videos that will be featured on the club's social media. Chris says "We wanna have a big skating event hopefully towards the end of the year."
The meetings of the club will be every Wednesday during lunch in teacher Michael Vaughan's classroom (Room 604).
Chris and Sam want this to be a welcoming environment and they encourage people not to be scared of trying something new. They hope people will be able to enjoy their time and have fun in this club. Be on the lookout for signage and further announcements about the club!
