Minarets is a very diverse campus with very diverse clubs, one of those is GSA Club. Gay-Straight Alliance club is a club centered around uplifting the voices of the LGBTQ+ community at Minarets. Every student is welcome, whether it be to be surrounded by support from your other LGBTQ+ members, or a straight, cis person who simply wants to learn about allyship and what they can do to support. GSA is a club rooted in support and acceptance for all.
We’ve had the pleasure of interviewing multiple students involved in GSA! From Jaxx Gorans, a transgender man, to Jae Jacobs, a non-binary gay student. The different perspectives you hear and the knowledge you gain is unattainable anywhere else. Learning acceptance, kindness, and love are key skills to pursuing happiness in life, and attending meetings of clubs such as GSA can certainly teach you those skills.
