Deep into the school year, we welcomed a new teacher to our English 12, English 10, and Journalism classes: Mrs. Klemme. Since her arrival, she has cultivated a wonderful learning environment in each of her classes. When she was younger, she wanted to become a Sports Center anchor for ESPN. Teaching at Minarets might seem far off from that career, but there are many similarities and shared skills that both jobs have. Mrs. Klemme particularly believes that building an engaging and entertaining lesson plan for the school is a necessary skill for a Sports Center anchor. Mrs. Klemme has quite a repertoire of former jobs and expertise that make her a valuable resource on our campus. She previously worked as a director of marketing and had many great takeaways. One of which she says is, “Outworking everyone will lead to success,”. While she dedicated a lot to that job, Mrs. Klemme has now found a place in our community where she hopes that the students she works with see someone who wants them to succeed. Mrs. Klemme wants to
equip her students with essential communication skills and real-life experience.
Some advice that has stuck with Mrs. Klemme through the years would be advice given to her by her high school softball coaches. They told her that showing up even when you don’t want to show up is very valuable. That taught her that seeing things through benefits you in the long run, even when a specific moment doesn’t feel particularly important. Mrs. Klemme shares her life motto with Kobe Bryant. The quote, “The only thing I can control is how hard I work,” is one that she greatly agrees with. She advocates for the importance of dedication and effort, especially when facing circumstances beyond our control.
Mrs. Klemme is a wonderful new addition to our staff, and we’re already seeing her impact on our community. She’s a great resource, a thoughtful teacher, and someone who is dedicated to making our school even better. We look forward to seeing how she continues to leave her mark here at Minarets.
