This year, Minarets High is welcoming a new math teacher, Dylan Grimes to the Minarets family.Grimes came to Minarets because he wanted to be in a school culture that was smaller and more intimate. The tech aspect of the school caught his eye when he heard about Minarets. He has been teaching for a year and a half.

As any teacher would, Grimes has set many goals for this school year. He would like to prepare all of his Math 1 students for Math 2, as well as help create a classroom environment where all math is on technology and nothing is on paper.

When he’s not teaching math, Grimes has many hobbies to occupy his time. This includes playing tennis and walking his dog. He also likes theme park history, such as the story behind the Disney Railroad. Grimes is also a huge Star Wars fan. He says his favorite Star Wars movie would be The Empire Strikes Back. “It’s a great as a stand-alone film with the best acting and action,” said Mr. Grimes.
