The 2020-2021 yearbook is expected to look a little different this year. According to yearbook editor senior Jessica McGrail, instead of receiving their yearbooks at the end of the school year, students can expect to receive them in August 2021.
The year’s yearbook staff consists of advisor Juan Ortiz; editors Jessica McGrail and Rylee Zukovsky; as well as Sarah Wold, Kaydence Holmes, Olivia Drake, Chloe Burcham, Jenna Smoljian, and Sam Wells. All staff members are in charge of photos and page design, with the exception of Smoljian and Wells, who only provide photos.
McGrail explains how this year’s yearbook will look. “Yearbooks are expected to come out in August, which is out of the ordinary, but it will be a complete yearbook. That means that the yearbook will contain Prom, graduation, etc., which is unlike ever before." McGrail also explained that earlier this year, grades 9-11 were able to submit their own personalized, individual pictures, as well as submit other assorted pictures to fill the yearbook.
Although the yearbook staff has begun brainstorming ideas and layouts, they have not decided on a theme, but the team is confident they will find the right one. Due to the COVID pandemic, it still has not been decided if there will be a group senior picture, but if school can open back up, the team believes they can find a way to make such a photo happen.
For those who did not submit a picture, the team is planning on having an official picture day on March 31. They are also requesting that students continue contributing to the yearbook by submitting pictures taken while in virtual learning that students would like to see in the yearbook.
