In order to raise funds to support the students of Minarets on their journey towards college, the National Honors Society is running a Valentines Day fundraiser, where they will be selling flowers in the style of Key Club's Boo Grams. The fundraiser will be starting Feb. 4 and ending Feb. 13. The orders will then be organized, so that they are ready for delivery on Valentine's day!
Flower orders will be sold during lunch by the blue tables, where students can write personal messages for their valentines. Teacher and NHS Adviser Michael Land talks about how the flowers will come in different colors. “We are going to have different carnations so they will be white, red, or pink, and students can choose between them.” Each carnation will cost two dollars. We talked to Secretary of NHS, Junior Johanna Ziegler, about her expectations for the fundraiser: “I think this is going to be a really good fundraiser because it's never really been done before and I think Valentine’s day, especially at a high school, is always pretty huge”. This fundraiser will help our National Honors Society recognize their seniors with medals, pins and other types of awards at graduation. As Johanna said, however, this is the first experiment with a Valentine's Day fundraiser, and there are only 75 flowers up for grabs. Be sure to buy your flowers soon, before they run out!
